Though there are numerous stories of the rampant crime making headlines around the world, New York can be one of the safest cities in U.S.. In fact, it ranks below the other big-population cities like California in both violent crimes, which of much concern to the tourists, and property crime.

As the locals there say, “sure, you have to be a little crazy to live in New York, but you'd be nuts to live in anywhere else.” Yes, when you take a closer look at the character of New York, you will just fall in love with it.

No other place is more cosmopolitan. A walk through the hundreds of residential neighborhoods is just like walking around the world itself. Place names like Chinatown and Little Italy can be found on any map of New York, and other ethnic groups also abound. Because of so many ethnic groups, you may have chance to experience their own culture and food every week on their annual or seasonal festivals.

Also due to the unsurpassed ethnic diversity, the food lovers will feel that they have died and gone to heaven while in New York. There are such large varieties of cuisine available. One will never far from a restaurant, and even better most of these exotic restaurants are reasonably priced.

Besides many internationally famous sightseeing attractions, such as the Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, and United Nation, ect, many other interesting places also await the curious travellers. The Bronx Zoo in the northern borough of the Bronx is one of the world's best. The borough of Queens offers a great variety of ethnic residential neighborhoods. Brooklyn contains the Botanic Gardens, Coney Island (a beach with the amusement park) and J.F.K. International Airport. Finally, Staten Island, the smallest borough, still affords a look at what New York used to be like, including a farm!

No matter what your interest is, if it can be found in an urban environment, it can be found in New York. It simply can be what you want it to be.
