Visa for South Korea
Visitors from nearly all west European countries, New Zealand, Australia and around 30 other countries, with a confirmed on ward tickets, receive 90-day permits on arrival. Visitors from USA and a handful of countries receive 30-day permits, those from Italy and Portugal receive 60-day permits, and Canadians receive a six-month permit.And visitors from Russian Federation, China, India, the Philippines, Nigeria and other 15 countries must apply for visas beforehand.
For a tourist visa, it allows a stay of 90 days. Normally, you can not extend the stay beyond 90 days except in rare cases such as a medica emergency, and the fine for overstay starts at W100, 000.
For a work visa, it can be made inside Korea, but you have to leave the country to pick up the visa. It usually takes two days to process the visa. You can also apply for a one-year work visa before entering Korea but it can take a few weeks to process. Note that the visa authorities need to see originals of your educational qualifications. It's a safeguard against fake degree certificates.
