SOUTH KOREA TRAVEL GUIDE - GENERAL INFORMATION

World Travel Guide Asia South Korea General Information Picture choosen by: Mr.Kim Daesung South Korea Overview South Korea, officially the Republic of Korea (ROK) and often referred as just “Korea”, is a state in East Asia. Situated on the southern half of the Korean Peninsula, it is neighbored by China to the west, Japan to the east, and North Korea to the north.

Its capital is Seoul. And its territory covers a total area of 100,032 square kilometers and has a population of over 50 million.

No one knows where the country is headed, but it is fast-forward all the way. Its economy grew significantly and the country was transformed into a major economy and a full democracy.

Few travellers explore the countryside, which is a tragedy and a blessing. Serene temples, picturesque mountains, lush rice paddies, unspoiled fishing villages and endless hiking opportunities are so far off the beaten track, it's unlikely to meet any Westerners (or even English speakers) on the less-traveled road.

Come as an explorer, seek out adventure, cut your own trail. Challenge yourself with a truly great journey.
