But there are budget hotels even in city center areas. The hotel rate will fluctuate from week days to weekend and public holidays. Mostly, special rate will be offered during summer time.

Budget
Backpackers' hostels can be found primarily in Little India, Bugis and East Coast. Around $30 for a dorm bed.
Lower-end hotels are available in the Geylang, balestier and Little India districts. These hotel rooms only provide basic facilities like a bathroom and television but clean. Prices start as $15 for a few hours to $40 for a whole night stay. There are budget hotel chains below:
•Fragrance Hotel, Chain of 13 affordable hotels and one backpackers' hostel. Rooms from $58, discounts on weekends and for ISIC holders.
•Hotel 81, A chain of 18 cheap, functional hotels that are not a bad option for backpackers willing to pay a small premium for privacy, with rates starting at $49 for two.

Mid-range
Much of Singapore's mid-range accommodation is in rather featureless but functional older hotels, with a notable cluster near the western end of the Singapore River. There has, however delightful little boutique hotels nestling in the back streets of Chinatown and these can be pretty good value, with rates starting from $100/night

Splurge
The luxury hotels can be found by the riverside or down town such as Orchard road. The rate is upwards of $300 for a room in a five star hotel which rank among the finest in Asia. Everyone knows of Raffles, which has been endlessly mythologized, but there are numerous other top-class properties.

Long-term
Renting an apartment in Singapore will generally require a working visa. While over 80% of Singaporeans live in government-subsidized Housing Development Board (HDB)
Most expats, however, turn to private housing blocks known as condos, where an average three-bedroom apartment will cost you anything from $2,000 per month for an older apartment in the suburbs to $20,000 for a top-of-the-line deluxe one on Orchard Road. Most condos have facilities like pools, gyms, tennis court, car park and 24-hour security. As the supply of studio and one-bedroom apartments is very limited, most people tend to share a same house with friends or simply rent a single bed room.
