Port View Seafood Village
Address : Lot 18 Waterfront Esplanade, Sinsuran, Sinsuran
Phone : +60 88 221 753
This Chinese seafood restaurant is somehow similar to an aquarium, but the only difference is that herein you can eat the displays. Menu is of little use here as you can simply point to what you want from the large amount of living fish and shellfishes. Besides the large variety and quantity, the taste is also superb. Even if you don't eat seafood, it's also nice to come and have a look.

Nishiki
Address : 59 Jln Gaya, Kota Kinabalu Lama, Kota Kinabalu Lama
Phone : +60 88 230 582
Hotels often promote a home from home, and this little delicate restaurant really ensures a feeling of authentic Japanese taste outside Japan. Not far away are the city's excellent fish markets. And it's with no difficult to find out why their dishes all taste so fresh. The atmosphere is pleasantly traditional while the cost is quite reasonable. You can choose from good-value meals, sushi sets to plenty of a la carte choices. It is a must for those Japanese-food-lovers.

Kohinoor in KK
Address : Lot 4 Waterfront Esplanade, Sinsuran, Sinsuran
Phone : +60 88 235 160
One has told me, if he lives in KK, this Indian restaurant would be his daily routine, which may sound exaggerating, but only of a little. It is well located in the Waterfront Esplanade, offering comfortable indoor seating as well as breezy outdoor seating. Their fish tikka, pile of naan and other dishes so tasty is partially due to its authentic tandoori oven. During11:30 to 14:30 or 17:30 to 23:00, you can pay a visit to it.

Kedai Kopi Fatt Kee
Address : 28 Jln Bakau, Kota Kinabalu Lama, Kota Kinabalu Lama
Open Hour : lunch & dinner, closed Sun
The Kedai Kopi Fatt Kee is right next to Ang's Hotel, and it's normally over-crowded during mealtimes, that is to say, you have got to have your meals earlier or later. “Midin” cooked in belacan (fermented shrimp paste) is a Borneo classic, and salt and pepper prawns are also great. Seated yourself in the semi-outdoor Chinese restaurant, enjoy a feast with your dear ones.

First Beach Cafe
Address : Aru Drive, Tanjung Aru, SW of Kota Kinabalu, SW of Kota Kinabalu

After a long journey away from home, you surely start missing the taste back home. Why not reward yourself with a feed at this popular, casual Italian specialist? Choices include surprisingly good salads, pizzas, and pasta. Take note, it only open for lunch and dinner.

Tanjung Aru Seafood Restaurant
Address : Aru Drive, Tanjung Aru, S of Kota Kinabalu, S of Kota Kinabalu
Phone : +60 88 245 158
This giant seaside eatery does great fresh seafood, which they'll prepare for you any number of tempting ways. The wok-baked lobster in butter and milk sauce sounded horrible when the waiter recommended it, but we were pleasantly surprised. There's a good dinner show here on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings starting at seven and lasting about an hour. We particularly liked the dance over the bamboo sticks. How many bruised ankles went into learning this?
