Shinjuku Asuka Hotel Tokyo takes 10 minutes walk from JR Shinjuku station or 5 minutes walk from JR Okubo station. There were two C-stores near the hotel. One was even attached to the hotel. It's not very visible from the main streets until you go around the corner. The hotel is very central but has no ground floor reception and no place for taxis or busses to stand to unload guests and bags. Staff was generally poor trained and not helpful at all. For one thing, no interest to help us to find a carrier who would get our ski gear to the airport. The rooms smelled of smoke when I came into it although it was siad non-smoking room. The carpet was old and overall the room was dated. Size was good for Tokyo. I would to say it was just a average hotel.
