We used Beaches backpackers at short notice due to another accomodation option falling through. We hadn't used many backpackers places before but were pleasently surprised by the space and cleanliness of the rooms. The reception staff were great, really helpful and friendly, as were all the staff we had contact with. We used two different rooms there, both were large clean doubles, clean linen, no furniture other than a bed, mirror and chair but very functional. The site has a pool, laundry, games area, large bar and dining area with internet access, which was all in good condition. The female toilet and shower area was being refurbished whilst we were there, so the male section was being used as a communual area, this was functional and reasonably clean and ok. Cheap, filling food was served in the bar / dining area. The whole place had a great, friendly atmosphere. If you want a large, clean, cheap double room, with some of the coldest beer we had on our trip( $7 for a scooner and pot), then this place should serve you well. Liked — cheap, large, clean rooms.
