My husband and I stayed at Bedarra for a week of our honeymoon. I was worried that the cost may not be worth it....but once we arrived all my doubts were removed. The resort is designed to complement the environment and as such the main buildings and rooms are simple timber designs which work perfectly. The staff are absolutely amazing and from the moment we stepped off the plane we were treated like royalty. The staff really cared about our comfort and nothing was too much trouble. Our room had everything we needed including a breathtaking view out over the bay. The highlight of our trip would have to be the food! Every meal was made with fresh ingredients and you knew that every plate was prepared by someone passionate about good food. The presentation was beautiful and the flavours to die for; so much so that we ate everything put before us! The open bar policy was also wonderful, although I still feel like I am recovering since I've returned to work :-) The staff made the holiday truly enjoyable - the standouts being Pam and Wil. The island does have a lot of natural wildlife, but we found that very appealing and actively sought out as many creatures as we could. Stacy who runs the day spa is fantastic. We both had a couple of massages and I had a facial - time has never passed so quickly. There isnt a great deal to do on the island itself other than bushwalking, swimming and taking a boat out for a secluded picnic - but if you want a relaxing and complelely indulgent break - Bedarra is perfect. We absolutely loved our time there and would recommend it to those who appreciate good food and wine and the peacfulness of nature.
