During a recent trip to Adelaide I stayed at the Majestic Tynte Street Apartments. The apartments were clean and comfortable and had apparently been renovated in 2007. While I was generally satisfied with the accomodation, there were some points which would make me consider looking for an alternate location next time. Cons. The apartments are right under the flight path for Adelaide's airport and depending on wind direction, low flying aircraft rumble over the rooftop through until the late hours. Checking in must be done at the Majestic Old Lion Apartments about 1.5km away, this is inconvenient having no reception on site. The mono television set is small and not really compatible with "stereo" media players / DVDs. Internet rates are over the top. $70 for 5 days with only 500Mb downlaod, non-negotiable for long term stayers who do a lot of work online. Some pros are, it is close to a wide variety of restaurants and hotels. If your visit takes you to the city, these apartments are well located, the city is nearby. If you drive, there is ample secure parking in the rear of the building accessible via the adjoining street.
