Asia is the largest and most populous continent in the world, covering 8.6% of the earth's total surface area, which equals 29.9% of its land area. And it has 60% of the world's current population, that is, nearly 4,000,000,000 people. It is embedded in the southeast of Eurasia, with Pacific Ocean at the east, Indian Ocean the south.
The wide difference in development level among and within its region is largely due to its vast land and huge range of different cultures, environment, and history and government system. In term of GDP, Japan has the largest economy on the continent, followed by China, Indian.
